Dawson Housing Limited is seeking a committed, experienced and forward-thinking individual to join our Board of Directors.

As a Registered Provider of Social Housing, we are dedicated to delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality accommodation, supporting vulnerable individuals and making a meaningful difference within the communities we serve.

As our organisation continues to develop and strengthen its services, we are looking to appoint a Board Member who can bring valuable expertise, independent judgement and constructive challenge to support our long-term strategic objectives.

The Role

As a Board Member, you will play a key role in providing strategic leadership, effective governance and independent oversight of the organisation.

Working collaboratively with fellow Board Members and the Executive Leadership Team, you will contribute to the continued development of Dawson Housing Limited, ensuring that the organisation operates responsibly, transparently and in accordance with its regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the organisation’s strategic direction, development and long-term sustainability.

• Providing independent scrutiny, constructive challenge and oversight of executive decisions.

• Monitoring organisational performance, financial viability, risk management and value for money.

• Supporting compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Economic and Consumer Standards.

• Providing oversight of safeguarding, resident welfare, housing quality and organisational accountability.

• Ensuring that residents’ interests, experiences and outcomes remain central to Board decision-making.

• Supporting effective governance, ethical leadership and continuous organisational improvement.

• Participating in Board meetings, relevant committees and strategic discussions.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from professionals who can demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgement, integrity and a genuine commitment to improving housing services.

We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Social housing, supported housing or housing association leadership.

• Corporate governance, regulatory compliance or legal services.

• Finance, audit, risk management or business sustainability.

• Safeguarding, social care or vulnerable adult services.

• Property management, housing standards or asset management.

• Strategic leadership, organisational development or public sector accountability.

• Resident engagement, community development or public services.

Previous Board experience would be advantageous but is not essential for candidates who can demonstrate relevant professional expertise and the ability to contribute effectively at a strategic level.
